General Info

Tucked away in the lively nightlife area of Susukino, Sapporo Jingisukan Daruma Otoshi is a mutton barbecue restaurant that feels both local and legendary. Located at Japan, 〒064-0807 Hokkaido, Sapporo, Chuo Ward, Minami 7 Jonishi, 4 Chome−2-6 LC11番館 3F, this spot draws in curious tourists and seasoned regulars with equal ease. From the moment you step in, the aroma of sizzling lamb sets the mood for a focused, no-frills dining experience centered on quality meat and simple technique.

The menu keeps things refreshingly straightforward, yet every dish leaves a strong impression. One of the standout plates is ラムチョップ, thick and juicy lamb chops grilled right at the table. They arrive with a deep, savory flavor that shows why jingisukan-style cooking is so loved in Hokkaido. Another favorite is 熟成塩ジンギスカン, where aged lamb is lightly seasoned with salt to let the natural taste shine. The meat cooks quickly, stays tender, and pairs perfectly with the casual, hands-on grilling style.

Regulars often order ラム円盤 and ラムヒレ, both offering different textures and cuts that make sharing easy and fun. Each piece feels thoughtfully prepared, never rushed, and clearly handled by people who know lamb inside and out. To balance the richness, ゆずそうめん adds a bright, refreshing note. The subtle citrus flavor cleanses the palate and keeps the meal feeling light, even after several rounds of barbecue.

In terms of service, Sapporo Jingisukan Daruma Otoshi is welcoming without being overbearing. It’s ideal for dine-in guests, comfortable for solo dining, and well set up for tourists exploring Sapporo’s food scene. The staff accepts reservations, which helps during busy evenings, and NFC mobile payments make the experience smooth and modern. Everything runs efficiently, letting the food stay front and center.

Among local reviews, this restaurant is often praised for consistency and atmosphere rather than flash. The compact location, focused menu, and energetic grill setup create a place where conversations flow easily and meals feel memorable. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or settling in for a longer evening, this is a spot that represents Sapporo’s lamb barbecue culture with confidence and authenticity.

“ A great little place for Ghingis Khan. Went with the set menu for four people. It was so much food! A bit too much really. Grilled it ourselves and it was easy and tasty. The sauces that you used with the meat was amazing! Beer was really cheap. English menu via a QR code, and you could order from that website. ”

- Sarah Jarne -

“ A gem to get Genghis Khan! We didn't have a reservation but was able to get in luckily. Their English wasn't great but the staff was very friendly and willing to help us out and suggest what to get. The prices were very reasonable and the meat was all delicious. Also super cheap drinks vs other places!!! Would definitely recommend. ”

“ This restaurant is in the recommended food in hotel brochure, and great review in google. So, we're here. Not much seats in this restaurants. Luckily I got a counter seat available even no reservations. Steamed and grilled lamb is great. Not smelly and easy to eat. Even me who don't like lamb could eat. Garlic lamb is the most delicious. However, price is quite expensive about 5000 per course per person. Drink is cheap especially alcohol becuase it cost only 110 yen each. ”

“ Great food and very unique experience. Personally would recommend the aged salt Jingisukan and the lamb disc. Would not recommend the lamb chop as it was harder to eat and not as tasty. The 99 yen drinks were also great! Quite a small place so I also recommend booking a table before going ”

“ Small and beautiful spot with extremely friendly staff. They took care of me and helped me go through the menu. The food is tasty and worth going to twice. Highly recommend. ”
